Japanese vaccination certificate is now accepted by Malta.

The Japanese vaccination certificate will be accepted using the VeriFly application. The Ministry of Health stated that the Japanese vaccination certificate will be recognized as valid by authenticating it with the same application. This eliminates the need for 14 days of isolation and allows you to participate in face-to-face classes at a language school. This app has been used to certify the validity of vaccination certificates in the United States and Canada. The vaccines recognized as effective vaccines in Malta are Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson.

After entering Malta, after receiving your luggage at the turntable, the necessary documents for entering Malta will be checked (certification of vaccination certificate and confirmation of dPLF contents). When you certify your vaccination certificate, you will need to authenticate with the Japanese vaccination certificate and the pass created by veriFLY. Entry into Malta is only permitted to residents of the countries included in the notice below. Check https://legislation.mt/eli/ln/2021/300/eng for a list of countries.

All passengers entering Malta should complete the Digital Passenger Locator Form (dPLF) online. A pre-register is needed since will need to present the PDF with the QR code you received after registration is complete before boarding and upon arrival in Malta. PDF with QR code could be saved on a smartphone, tablet, etc. or printed in advance. Digital Passenger Locator Form (dPLF) https://app.euplf.eu/#
